WaitaMinute!

WaitaMinute! is all about having ideas and making them happen, then having more ideas and making them happen too!

This year I worked with year two pupils who were faced with the challenge of shooting a one minute film. Seven year olds have something else in common with artists; our warped sense of time.  So to kick off our film-making I developed a social science experiment for the children and staff to undertake; what things can you do or are possible to do in 60 seconds!  Results indicate it is possible to laugh for a whole minute at a joke that is getting less and less funny and to make a cup of tea in 56 seconds (white with two sugars aswell!).  Other findings available on request.

Once we had an appreciation of time we found we were all grown up and had absolutely nothing left in the world to learn.  Not really, but what we did do was think of ideas and stories that could be turned into a one minute film.  Whilst this was hapening with the Ideas crew the Camera crew were learning all about scenes, camera shots, storyboarding & direction.  A class made of crews!  Beautiful.

We made a staggering ten original and creative fictional films (including one made by a superheroine Teaching Assistant who wanted in on more fun (who could blame her!).

Meet me here again when hopefully i'll have some further covers, clips and takes to show you!
